This movie is fantastic, even though it doesn't really have a plot, is just a great concept of life. The conversations and the characters are hard to forget afterwards. My favorite part was is the speech about the nonexistence of free will.

If you like surreal or dream-like films, I would strongly recommend you watch some of Ingmar Bergman's films, especially "Life of The Marionettes" (my personal favorite). His movies are all about the characters and their unconscious fears and frustrations.
P.D: I'm from Chile so I apologize for any spelling errors.
I saw it a couple of months ago. It was pure greatness and it really made me wonder about losts of things.
It's one of these films that you either love or hate but I definitely encourage everyone to give it a try, because is worth your time :)
I've seen it a few years ago. I don't remember all of it, but there was this one scene about free will and determinism that kept me thinking for a long time. Yesterday I was talking to a friend about this topic, it still haunts me.
Almost managed to repress this, and now I find that scene again. Thx! ;)
I don't like the thought, that everything I think, feel and say is determined by previous events. Scary...
Where am I while this thing called life happens? :l
Only observing?
I love such movies. Good food for thoughts.
Does anyone know something similar?
PS.
You might like 'The Latest Answers to the Oldest Questions' by Nicholas Fearn. He traveled around the globe to interview big philosophers.
There a movie called "The Man From Earth" (2007) that you guys may like. It's not that similar to "Waking Life", but it makes you question your beliefs about religion and stuff like that. Very philosophical.
After seeing this post on your blog i went and watched the movie... It was quite brilliant and really triggered my thought process on some of the things that were said.... you should totally look into it.

In my first year of university right before the Christmas break, a bunch of us sat by a bed and watched this at 4 am. It was a beautiful experience, talking about life and philosophy with friends because of such an amazing film. Definitely one of my favourite memories of first year. :D
I'm quite impressed by the things you write about in here, not that I know you and should have any expectations about you,but it's nice to see that there's still people out there who's not alienated from everything else that's happening in the world, the thing is I wanted to recommend you a film,is called ZEITGEIST. It's quite a raw film but isn't that just how the world we're living in is?
I strongly recommend you A Scanner Darkly, directed by Linklater. It's a film adaptation of a Philip K. Dick's awsome novel. Very dramatic and wonderful atmospheres.
This post may be old but anything Waking Life related is relevant. I saw this when I was a sophomore in high school and it BLEW MY FREAKING MIND. So many wonderful existential questions, Linklater is just a magical being. It's great coming from the guy who made Dazed
