I love Jo Frost, Danietje and I were actually talking about her the other day and how brilliant a show Supernanny is! It's totally amazing how well her techniques work...I think I'll be using the "naughty step" and "Penelope the paci-fairy" with my children (when that day comes).
Totally agree with you on Supernanny US, it's just as good as the UK show and not over the top as many american shows are. In some ways I prefer it to the UK one because there is such a wide range of families on it...
Extreme Parental Guidance is brilliant too - The woman is a total legend.

Ahh my god Gordon Ramsey USA is terrible! I love watching it though, with the dramatic editing and music and the 'after the break' previews in which they tease you with scenes in which EVERYTHING MIGHT FALL APART. And the folk on it are fucking hilarious. Like Elspeth said, there's more of a variation of characters in US versions, but maybe I just think that as I'm used to all types of crazy UK bastards.
Also, Jo Frost is ace, I make badges sometimes and I've had so many of my friends asked for Jo Frost on a badge. Is that weird? Nah, you're right, it's not.

I love love LOVE Supernanny and the US version. Jo Frost is amazing. I'm so disappointed that she's hung up her Supernanny shoes in favour of other types of parenting shows. Gutted is the word. The things she does, the turn arounds, it's fantastic and she really does deserve lots of praise. I've taken so many tips from her that I use sometimes when I'm working with younger kids and tips I hope will stay with me for when I have children.

I never heard of those shows. I'm not from US or UK, but that sounds interetsing. I don't plan to have kids, but I like the subject.

I love jo frost, when i was in college doing childcare we used to have to watch supernanny to make sure we acted appropiatly and didnt mess up in our placements lol. she was my town once for supernanny but i never knew the family who she went to, but the kids seemed like brats lol. All in all she is amazing in whatever country she's doing her job in lol

I only ever watched the US version. Pretty original show and Jo is good at what she does!
US versions of shows are hilarious. Wife Swap is the best cause they just find the most insane families with completely different outlooks and then sit back and watch as all hell breaks loose haha!
Aw leave Ramsay alone, I loved Kitchen Nightmares USA! Fair enough Hells Kitchen was a bit crap but I enjoy watching Ramsay :)

I've watched it a few times but since I'm still trying to convince my g/f that kids are the way to go i try to avoid letting her watch kids terrorising their parents/siblings and other relatives at any cost!
I do agree tho Jo Frost uk and Jo Frost USA are one in the same there is no acting and she isn't afraid to say what she thinks it's very refreshing and a better way to show off the Brits!

Has anyone been watching Joe Frost- Extreme Parental Guidance? I think she's amazing and would very much like for her to mother my children- I think she deserves so much credit for what she does. Supernanny such an original (and important) program, I know she does an American version of it and, unlike other UK TV personalities who have US versions of their shows *cough Gordon Ramsay* every word spoken isn't over dramatised in order to cater for what they think a different audience is expecting and (as far as I'm aware?) there are no scenes created for "entertainment purposes". Just wondered if anyone else thinks she's as amazing as I do?
