Third time lucky.. I hope! I saw Camila Batmanghelidjh on question time - the london riots special, in that and in this article she makes some great points, but i think a majority of the looters were just hedonistic opportunists who just wanted some free stuff.. I think some are now hiding behind politics to give themselves reason for the way they acted - if that makes sense? Im not the most articulate person :)
'The politics of a burning building, a smashed-in shop or a young man shot by police may be obscured even to those who lit the rags or fired the gun, but the politics are there'
Started out as to prove a point ....Quickly went out of Control. The youth world over are searching for a opportunity to show the privileged that they exist and cannot be ignored. Don`t agree with their methods but its easy to judge .
There is nothing to gain from violence. Only more violence! You cannot solve a riot (unfortunately)but you have to think about why they're doing it in the first place. We all fight for a reason, right? And in this modern society, there are big reasons. The only way to solve this, is to wait for it to end, as it will. As we said, it started out as to prove a point, when the point's been proven, then we will forget about all this and eventually return to our lives that consist of working, shagging, and loving for the most part.
